My father moved our family from Manila, Philippines to our new life in Gary, Indiana in 1969. My parents stressed education and good health as a means to ensure a solid future.

By the early 1990’s, I was a young doctor working in New York City, in the middle of a nascent HIV plague. I was unsure of the effectiveness of the medical profession as the majority of my infected patients died. This was when I began looking to unconventional counselors, fortune tellers for advice to see if I could get insight into my current situation. 

I looked into past knowledge, including the occult sciences, when I had free time from work as a medical doctor. Astrology appealed to me because it had the scientific basis of astronomy which couldn’t be easily manipulated and it had rules that can be followed. The astrological insights I gained gave me the courage to manifest my longing to travel and explore different healing techniques. It helped me understand why I did not pursue marriage or having children as aggressively as I pursued my academic interests. 

My horoscopic chart reflects the many moves and travels that I’ve taken. In each of my four years of college, I lived in different residences. When I graduated from Indiana University School of Medicine in 1989, I moved to New York where I lived in two different addresses. I moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin for fellowship training in 1994. Between July, 1995 to March, 1996, I worked in Portland, Maine, Fort Myers, Florida, and finally, ended up in Miami for the next five years. I then moved to the Oakland, California to be closer to my aging parents. After twelve years, I moved to Las Vegas where I currently reside. During 1997 – 2015, I traveled to many places to study with Indigenous healers, including the Brazilian Amazon, Bolivia, and Belize.

Astrology is a map that can help point out the bumps, hazards, and detours of life, but man still has free will to choose which route to take. I hope my story will engage, entertain, and incite public interest to consider the tool I’m presenting to analyze the strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities in their own lives.
